Ruby, founder of Indiadances,
completed her early training at the age of 12 under the Bharitya Vidhya Bhavan
in London.
She later, continued her studies under Guru Ji- Priya Pawar, gaining a thorough grounding in the Jaipur Gharana of Kathak. Her quest for enriching her art with the techniques of classical dance combined with contemporary dance has proven fruitful and rewarding as she has developed workshops teaching Classical and Bollywood classes in the UK and abroad.
Pioneering in ‘Parent & Child Hindi for Dance’ workshop with Greenwich Community College, Ruby currently teaches both adults and children a foreign language through dance.
By raising awareness within the community, Ruby has performed and promoted for Charities, Schools, Corporate & Cultural events, and Weddings around the UK, Europe and in the United States.
Ruby whilst keeping both modern and classical dances separate, she additionally combines in her art, the delicacy and complexity of the Jaipur Kathak, and the vigour and fluidity of modern Bollywood dance. Working as a professional International performer and choreographer since 1988,
her experience of dance stretches from Indian Classical Dance 'Kathak' (from Northern
India) to the contemporary Bollywood Style dance and Folk Dance.
